Park is seeking a full-time Upper School Science Teacher to support the progressive integration of science content and skills. The candidate is responsible for teaching and for planning collaboratively with members of their department. Candidates will also be asked to serve as a club advisor for a group of students in grades 9-12. Must have classroom experience with, and affinity for, students of this age. Strong pedagogy, differentiation, and developmental awareness required. Candidates must strike the right balance between setting high expectations and nurturing their students' growth and have the following qualities: An ability to design and implement curriculum that meets or exceeds Next Generation Science Standards An ability to inspire students and bring a joyful, positive attitude about children to work every day A willingness to become active members of the Park community; A drive to bring 'real life' experience into their classroom and extend the classroom beyond the school walls; A belief in Park's mission and in creating a nurturing classroom environment with high expectations; A commitment to social justice and equity, cultural competence, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse people; Excellent formal and informal communication skills with students, parents, and the administration; A pedagogical philosophy that is student-centered and demonstrates comfort differentiating instruction; A creative mindset comfortable with problem-solving, innovating, and an emphasis on growth Required Bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Education with a concentration in Chemistry) Preferred Master's degree in Education Doctorate, Ph.D or Ed.D The Park School is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified professional educators regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, gender, marital status, disability, religious or political affiliation, age, or sexual orientation.
