2025-2026 Immersion Trips

Student Leadership Immersion Trip

Equal Justice Initiative Legacy Sites - Montgomery, AL - March 10-12, 2026

27 students and 10 adult chaperones from nine Western New York schools are on a powerful learning journey to Selma and the Equal Justice Initiative Legacy Sites in Montgomery, Alabama.

The students traveling represent an inspiring cross-section of our community, including 16 Buffalo Prep scholars, and come from the following schools:
Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, City Honors, Buffalo Seminary, Canisius High School, Cardinal O’Hara High School, Mount St. Mary Academy, Nichols School, St. Francis High School, and St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute.

While in Alabama, students will visit the EJI Legacy Museum, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and travel to Selma, places that as you know, hold profound historical significance in the ongoing storyand struggle of civil rights in the United States. Experiences like this allow students to engage with history in a deeply personal and meaningful way, reflect on the continuing pursuit of justice, and consider the role each of them can play in shaping a more equitable future.
