Support for Members

To support the establishment of equitable, anti-bias, multicultural school environments, EdCo has partnered with the Eastern Education Resource Collaborative (East Ed). East Ed will serve as a resource to schools and families, and facilitate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives with member schools throughout the school year.

Teacher-Student Relationship Quality Project (TSRQ)

The goal of TSRQ is to connect academic research to classroom practice to make our teaching more equitable and to strengthen our relationships, especially across difference.  Utilizing observation data, feedback protocols, and dialogue, we create an opportunity for teahcers to self-reflect and to think deeply about their pedagogy as it relates to student enagement.  By improving our skills, we make it possible for more children to succeed.

Participating teachers commit to 4-5 observations over a six-month period. Prior to observations, teahcers will review the tenets of TSRQ and select 3-4 pedagogical strategies on which to focus.

EdCo Teacher DEI Collaborative

This group will work togethre to further the overall goal of supporting the EdCo schools' progress in DEI:

  • Research, study, and discuss societal systems that currently and historically cause inequity.
  • Examine the atmosphere of equity and inclusion in Western New York, and in their school communities.
  • Network and support each other around equity and inclusion work.
  • Collaborate on deliverable projects to address equity and inclusion issues in their school communities.
  • Internally support the work of EdCo and EastEd in their schools.
